UPDATE: 17 October 2022
The government has announced that from Friday 14 October, it is no longer mandatory to self-isolate at home if you test positive to COVID, and close contact requirements have also been removed.
While this is a significant change, we still ask our community to follow some important COVID protocols. Our desire is to continue to keep our community as safe as possible, especially our Year 12 students sitting their HSC examinations.
Stay home until you are symptom free
It is very important that if you test positive to COVID and are symptomatic that you stay home. We do not want to risk passing on COVID here at school - either to other students or to our staff.
Indeed, our position remains the same for all illnesses for students, visitors to school and staff - if you are unwell, please do not come to school until you are symptom free.
COVID impact
We request that students continue to report to the school if they test positive for COVID. Please email admin@covenant.nsw.edu.au.
COVID safety
NSW Health strongly recommends that any student or staff member who tests positive to COVID follow the advice outlined below:
- Stay home until acute symptoms have gone.
- Don't visit people at high risk of severe illness, anyone in hospital or an aged or disability care facility for at least 7 days.
- Wear a mask when indoors and on public transport, if you must leave home.
- Avoid large gatherings and indoor crowded places.
- Talk to your school about when you should return to school.
- Tell people that you live with, or spend a lot of time with (such as school), that you have COVID.
- Try to separate from people you live with as much as possible.
- Continue to register your positive Rapid Antigen Test result with Service NSW.
Mask requirements
For the safety of our school community, we require students and staff who test positive to COVID to wear a mask indoors for 7 days after testing positive.
Rapid Antigen Test kits
RAT kits are available at the Office if required. These kits can be used for symptomatic testing.
Please contact the Office if you have any specific questions or concerns - admin@covenant.nsw.edu.au or call 8459 4200.
