This week we have the pleasure of getting to know Mrs Pam Stephens, just a little bit better.
Mrs Stephens, what is your role at Covie? I teach our youngest students at Covenant - Prep - 3 days a week.
If you could have any animal as a pet, what would it be? After reading 'Dear Zoo' by Rod Campbell earlier this year with a Prep, we all decided a dog would be the best pet.
5 words to describe Prep? Nurturing, playful, creative, stimulating, fun.
What is the best part of being part of God's family? Being supported and encouraged by people who have the same mindset and desire to know and love Jesus and share that good news with others.
Favourite beach? We holiday at Nelson Bay each year and I love the beaches around there.
Tell us a random fact about yourself? I have swum with whale sharks at Ningaloo.
What reminds you of the awesomeness of God? I love getting out in God’s creation and seeing the amazing world he has created. I have become a bit of a ‘bird nerd’ and seeing how God has created each bird so uniquely for their habitat is amazing. Then reading in the Bible how God cares for us even more!
If you could go to the Olympics for one sport, what would it be? I think I would do the 50m freestyle so that my whole Olympic campaign (for a gold medal 😉) would be over in 30 seconds and then I can enjoy the rest of the Olympics events.
Some say that people own dogs that match their personality. If that was true, what kind of dog would you own? I think that is true! We had a beautiful Border Collie called Molly for many years. They love being busy, need lots of walks and outside time and thrive on love and affection.
What has encouraged you recently from God's Word? Our home group has been working through an amazing study, 'The Armor of God' by Priscilla Shirer. Digging really deeply into Ephesians 6:10-19 over the term has been challenging and encouraging.
Fusion: We are looking for volunteers to assist with the following: Coffee cart (2 helpers needed at both 4.30-6.00pm and 6.00pm-7.15pm) Food distribution (2 helpers needed at both 4.30-6.00pm and 6.00pm-7.15pm) BBQ duty (2 helpers needed at both 4.30-6.00pm and 6.00pm-7.15pm).
Dads & Donuts: We are looking for 4-6 volunteers to assist with serving food from 7-8.30am!
The Scholastic book fair is back soon! Hosted by the Junior School Library, it will be open during Book Week (Wednesday 20 - Friday 22 August).

Planning ahead for 2026
Planning ahead for enrolment
Do you have a younger child? We know how easy it is to forget to put in a formal enrolment form when you've got a busy, young family. Now is the perfect time to get in touch and complete an application for Prep, Kindergarten or Junior School for the future years.
Year 7 applications for 2028 will be considered later this year. Please get in touch to confirm if we have your application. Applications can be submitted anytime via our school website.
Are you moving for 2026?
While we hope to see all our families stay at Covenant for 2026, we understand that changes can happen. If there’s a chance your child may not be continuing at Covenant in 2026, we’d really appreciate hearing from you now - even if your plans aren’t final yet. A quick chat gives us the opportunity to discuss your options, and it also helps us prepare for the year ahead. Some grades already have waiting lists, and early notice allows us to offer places to other families in good time.
If you'd like to talk it through, please call Wendy Boase on 8459 4221 or send an email to registrar@covenant.nsw.edu.au. Formal written notice is needed at least one term in advance (two terms for Year 6 leavers) to avoid cancellation fees.
Thanks so much for partnering with us - we’re so grateful for your continued support!
