The Covie Prayer Group is a group of faithful Covie parents and friends who are committed to bringing our school, its students, staff and families before the Lord in prayer. Please come and join us!

Prayer suggestions

  • Working Bee on Saturday, for many parents to volunteer, a productive day of work and building of positive relationships within the school community.
  • Many teachers and students away sick this week, for healing and recovery.
  • Year 11 Yarrabah trip departing on Sunday (returns 5 July), safety and good health for staff and students. May they be a blessing to the community as they spread the gospel and engage with locals and may hearts be softened to hearing his Word.
  • Pray for Year 7 and their Coordinator Tim Stanwell, give thanks for a great start to secondary school, deepened friendships, opportunities to serve and learning experiences.
  • For all those coping with difficult circumstances, for strength, perseverance and for them to know God’s peace, comfort & presence even in these times.
  • Ongoing building works to be on schedule and budget, safety for all during this time.

Prayer suggestions

  • Subject selection evening for Years 8 and 10 next Tuesday, an informative evening for all students, for clear direction and wisdom as they make subject choices for next year.
  • Board meeting next Wednesday, give thanks for the Board members who volunteer their time to serve our school, wisdom and discernment as they make decisions.
  • Preparations for the Evening of Dance next Thursday and for the health of students.
  • Preparation for Future Problem Solvers Trial Exam 1 next Friday.
  • Year 11 Yarrabah trip taking place in Week 10, for the team as they train and prepare to share the gospel and engage with the local community.
  • Give thanks for the Year 8 Passion project showcase this week, for the talent of the students, help of mentors and the many months of hard work that has gone into their projects.
  • Pray for Kindergarten, their teachers and teacher’s Aides, for continued development of friendships and building new skills and learning.

Week 7

Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.

Prayer suggestions

  • North Met Secondary Zone Athletics Carnival on Monday at Blacktown International Sports Park. For a safe and fun event, may students represent Covie well and show good sportsmanship.
  • CSSA Secondary State Netball Gala Day on Tuesday in Penrith. For safety as the team travel by bus, good weather and a great day of competition working together as a team.
  • School Association Information evening next Wednesday, that it would be well attended and that parents would prayerfully consider joining the Association.
  • Year 10-12 Careers visit next Wednesday from Macquarie University to be helpful and informative.
  • Year 9 UPP Wellbeing session - Stronger Connections next Thursday, students to engage and listen well.
  • Teachers as they mark assessments and write reports. For energy, wisdom, honesty and compassion, may they accurately represent children to their parents.
  • Pray for Year 2 and their teachers, that they will model godly leadership to the Infants Community.
  • Continue to pray for the building works to be on budget and on time & for new enrolments across the school.

Week 6

But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.

  • Health protection for staff and students during these winter months.
  • God to sustain teachers as they assess, mark and write student reports.
  • Pray for God’s provision and an increase in school enrolments.
  • Future Problem Solvers Conference, give thanks for the USA competition and learning experience and safe travels for the team as they return home next week.
  • Year 7 Wellbeing UPP session next Tuesday, ‘Grit’’, students to be strengthened in their mental fitness and learn how to engage well with each other.
  • Year 12 Geography excursion next Wednesday to Pokolbin as students conduct a field study as part of their Global Sustainability unit, on Tamburlaine Organic Winery as a sustainable industry.
  • Pray for Year 9 and Mr Apin as he stands in as Year 9 Coordinator for the term.

Week 5

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.

  • Give thanks for Covie’s Birthday, celebrating 47 years of Christian education and God’s faithfulness! Pray for more enrolments across the school.
  • Give thanks for the Evening of Music and pray for the Year 12 Music students as they receive feedback for their performances.
  • Year 10 Half-yearly exams, for students to be well, calm and to remember all they have been taught in class and studied.
  • Year 11-12 Parent Teacher Interviews next Monday, that parents and students will take the opportunity given to meet with teachers to receive feedback on their schoolwork and consider advice as they look towards preparing for the HSC.
  • The Future Problem Solvers International Conference, give thanks for the opportunity for Mrs Drain,16 students, 2 teachers and 9 parents travelling to the USA today to compete on 5 June. Pray for safety, logistics and health and a wonderful learning experience for all.
  • Pray for Year 3 students and their teachers, especially as the students prepare their speeches. Give thanks that many attend ‘Kids For Christ’ lunch time group.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

  • Year 12 PDHPE excursion to PhysXrehab in Cromer next Monday to deepen their understanding on factors affecting and improving performance.
  • Evening of Music next Tuesday, give thanks for the organisation and hard work that has gone into preparing for this event, pray students enjoy performing and aren’t nervous.
  • Year 11 Biology excursion next Wednesday to Long Reef to study the coastal rock platform environment, for good weather and a productive day for students as they collect data for their Depth Study Assessment task.
  • Board meeting next Wednesday, for wisdom and insight and a productive meeting. Give thanks for new Board members that have been appointed.
  • Year 10 Half-yearly exams starting next week, for students as they prepare, to be diligent in their studies and use their time wisely.
  • Year 11-12 Careers Expo Excursion next Thursday to be an informative time for students.
  • For those competing in the CSSA State Cross Country Carnival next Friday.

Prayer suggestions

  • Give thanks for the Association dinner and AGM last Wednesday night and for the Class Parent morning tea yesterday and the fellowship that came with them.
  • A smooth process for school photos next week, beginning on Monday.
  • Year 7-11 Da Vinci Decathlon taking place next Tuesday and Wednesday at Knox. Wisdom for students as they complete the challenges, to work well with their teammates.
  • Year 11 Geography excursion on Wednesday to Long Reef and Collaroy beaches to study coastal environments, for understanding and insight as students complete their field study.
  • For students in NSW All Schools Swimming and Diving Championships next Thursday.
  • Year 10 half-yearly exams starting in Week 5, for students as they prepare, to be diligent in their studies and use their time wisely.
  • Pray for Year 5 students and teachers for good energy levels and strengthened friendships.
  • Ongoing Building works, for safety on the worksite and for the project to be completed on time and within budget. Give thanks for Andrew Lowry who is overseeing the project.
  • Students and technology, may they use their school devices wisely as a tool for learning. Give thanks for TechServe who keep our students safe online.

I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High.

Prayer suggestions

  • Give thanks for Mothers and for the chance to celebrate them at school and in family gatherings so that they feel loved and appreciated.
  • Year 11 Yarrabah Training weekend at school, for team unity, students to grow in their personal walk and reliance on God, and wisdom as they spend time preparing the kids games program.
  • School Group tour next Monday, that the families visiting will see the importance of Christ-centred education, continue to pray for more enrolments.
  • Year 10 Visual Arts Excursion next Monday to the Art Gallery of NSW, that students develop their understanding of contemporary portrait painting.
  • CSSA North Met Zone Football Gala Day next Monday in Forestville for U15, and Dee Why for the Open age group, for good weather, team work and fun competition.
  • AGM dinner and meeting next Wednesday, for a well-attended and encouraging time of fellowship, give thanks for all the members of the Association and the Board who give their time to serve.
  • Continue to pray for the provision of committed Christian Casual Secondary teaching staff, especially over the winter months when staff can be sick.
  • Pray for Year 6 students and their teachers, that students will take the opportunities to be leaders in the Junior School and enjoy their final year before high school.

  • Give thanks for the holidays, a time of rest and an opportunity to recharge.
  • A productive second term of school, new students to settle in well and for positive friendships to grow.

  • KFC and Mustard Christian lunchtime clubs, give thanks for the student leaders who serve.
  • CIS Secondary swimming carnival and diving championships next Wednesday, give thanks for the talent and hard work of all swimmers.
  • Year 10-12 Careers Visit from UNSW next Wednesday to be informative for students.
  • Preparation, organisation & good weather for Secondary Cross Country next Thursday.
  • A wonderful celebration breakfast for Mother’s Day next Friday.
