I’m excited to introduce Weekly Insights on Christian education here at Covenant. These mini stories will unearth moments of joy in our community as we seek to reflect Jesus in all we do.
One beautiful example of this happened on Tuesday, when Mr Stanwell took Year 7 to assist a Year 2 class with their science research. What unfolded was more than just assistance, there was genuine connection and care for the younger students. The older students were intentional and displayed joy as they worked alongside their Year 2 buddy. It was a moment of community, where age didn’t divide, but united them.
Before leaving, Mr Stanwell invited the students to create a secret handshake, something they could share whenever they saw each other in the playground. These small moments of connection remind us that we’re part of something bigger. We are a community that loves like Jesus, where we care for one another and support each other in the everyday moments, such as a secret handshake!
