It is a blessing to pray together as a school community! Our Prayer Group warmly invites you to join them in prayer every Thursday during term time, from 9.00-9.30am in Cafe Covie.
Each week in the newsletter, our Prayer Group provides a passage of Scripture for us to meditate on and some prayer suggestions for the week ahead. These can all be found here.
This program is a fantastic way for our community to stand alongside Covie families in financial need.
This year we are seeking to support 44 families and raise $80,000 by 30 June. Can you help us?
A Bursary recipient recently shared their gratefulness for all the support they've received:
"Dear Covie Community, Thank you for your kind generosity and making it possible for my children to attend such a wonderful Christian School. Not only have you made a way for my children to access Christian education, you have also opened the door for us to be part of a wonderful school community where my children have been nurtured and supported."
All gifts over $2 are tax-deductible and 100% of your gift will go directly to supporting these families.
Thank you for standing with these families through your generous giving and prayers!
This week we have the pleasure of getting to know Miss Jemima Willmot just a little bit better.
Miss Willmot, what are you teaching at Covie?
Food Technology and Textiles and Design.
If you could time travel, where would you go, and who would you see?
I would love to time travel to see Billy Graham at one of his crusades in New York! I think it would be awesome to hear his preaching among millions of people and to hear his passion for Jesus!
Do you own anything sentimental you can never get rid of?
Too many things, lots of journals and probably my clothes - I still have my formal dress from Year 6 I can’t seem to get rid of.
What’s your favourite thing to do with your friends?
Heading to the beach or going to the markets with a coffee in hand!
Favourite block of chocolate?
My current fav is dark chocolate KitKat.
Go-to verse when things feel hopeless?
Philippians 4:6 NLT “Don’t worry about anything: instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done”. Such a good reminder that instead of overthinking and worrying about my day I can trust that God has got it in control. I also draw near to Luke 1:37, “For nothing is impossible with God”.
What was your first job?
My first job in high school was working at Michele's patisserie, and I also worked at IGA until Uni.
Best thing to teach in TAS and why?
I can’t choose; there is so many good things to teach in TAS! Best thing about teaching in Food Tech is to see all the amazing dishes students make and sharing a meal together. In Textiles the best thing is seeing all the beautiful creations by the students from toys to clothing and seeing their gifts flourish.
What is good about meeting with God's people?
Meeting with God’s people is one of the biggest blessings! I love gathering for encouragement - it’s the ‘as iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another’ kind of encouragement. It is so good learning from others’ experiences, from their faith and different gifts.
Favourite holiday destination?
Hawaii especially visiting the North Shore! I love the mountains, ocean and chilled vibes there!
We thought you'd enjoy these highlights from Secondary Camp Week at the end of Term 1.
So much happens every week at Covenant. Below are some things that have happened lately:
Congratulations to Lewis House on winning both the Primary and Secondary Cross Country! Amazing work!!
Some of our Year 7 students visited Wesley Gardens Aged Care earlier this week as part of their Micah challenge. Despite their initial nerves, they enjoyed connecting with the residents and hearing their stories. They are looking forward to visiting the residents again in the coming weeks.
Monday 19 May 2025 was a day to remember at West Epping Park, where our girls braved the elements for an unforgettable Soccer Gala Day. The cold and rainy weather might have had most people seeking warmth indoors, but not our girls. Armed with puffa jackets and umbrellas, they stood tall against the chilly conditions, ready to make their mark on the field.
The Senior Girls team (Miriam A, Lucia A, Llywela B, Jessica C, Mia C, Jacinta K, Scarlett M, Eva M, Megan O, Bonnie P, Ava R, Abigail T, Elisabeth W, coached by Mrs Young) kicked off the day with high hopes, but the start wasn’t easy. The first two matches proved challenging, and the scoreboard didn’t reflect the grit they had shown. However, instead of letting these early setbacks define their day, they tightened their boots, rallied together, and turned things around in their final two matches. With determination and unwavering team spirit, they played their hearts out, turning adversity into motivation and finishing strong.
On the other side, the Junior Girls (Aaliyah A, Ruby C, Sienna J, Isabelle J, Sanna M, Elki M, Isabella M, Victoria N, Elliot PS, Chloe R, Zoe S, Georgia T, Caitlin W, coached by Mrs Eatough) were absolutely unstoppable. Their chemistry and skill were on full display as they remained undefeated throughout the day, showing off their incredible teamwork and technical abilities. Their efforts paid off as they clinched a spot in the next stage of the competition — a well-deserved achievement that speaks to their dedication and relentless drive.
But the real magic of the day wasn’t just in the goals scored or the wins celebrated — it was in the camaraderie and support the girls showed one another. Whether they were on the field or cheering from the sidelines, the spirit of the team was alive and strong. The girls displayed incredible sportsmanship, always there to cheer on their teammates and offer encouragement, no matter the score.
Congratulations to all the girls for representing our school with such skill, finesse, and positivity. You made us proud with your resilience, teamwork, and infectious enthusiasm. We can’t wait to see what the next stages of the competition hold for the Junior Girls — keep up the amazing work!
- Mrs Rachel Young, Senior Girls Coach
