For Prayer and Praise
Please pray with us
It is a blessing to pray together as a school community! Our Prayer Group warmly invites you to join them in prayer every Thursday during term time, from 9.00-9.30am in Cafe Covie.
Each week in the newsletter, our Prayer Group provides a passage of Scripture for us to meditate on and some prayer suggestions for the week ahead. These can all be found here.

Secondary Parent Literacy Information Evening
Head of Secondary School, Sam Glassock speaks with Hailey Bootes (English Coordinator) and Silva Mekerdichian (Director of Teaching and Learning) about an upcoming information evening for parents to understand the analytical writing scaffold our students are using in Years 7-12 and learn how they can assist their children in their writing. More details can be found under below.

Junior Parent Information Night
- Tuesday 11 February
- 6.00pm for Prep (in Prep) and Kindergarten parents (in Kindy rooms)
- At 6.30pm in the Performing Arts Space (PAS) there will be a Junior School information session
- From 7.00-7.22pm, sessions for 2H, 2M, 3BT and 3G in their classrooms.
- From 7.22-7.42pm, sessions for 1D, 1S, 6YC and 6H in their classrooms.
- From 7.44-8.04pm, sessions for 4ED, 4H, 5E and 5S in their classrooms.
- The evening will finish with a Secondary School information session at 8.05-8.30pm in the PAS for parents with children in Years 5 and 6.
- This evening is for parents/carers only.
Primary Swimming Carnival
- Monday 17 February
- Entry from 8.30am at Warringah Aquatic Centre. Finish time is 12.00pm.
- Parents are responsible for arranging the transportation of their children. There is a bus leaving Covenant and returning to Covenant for the afternoon at a cost of $6 each way. You will need to make a booking by Wednesday 12 February. Make your bus booking here.
- Parents are invited to come and cheer as spectators, or volunteer to assist at the carnival (towards PIP hours). Sign up to help by Monday 10 February.

Secondary Parent Information Night
- Monday 17 February
- Supper from 6.30pm in the Hall
- There will be a general information session at 7.00pm.
- At 7.40pm, all Year 7 parents will go to the Performing Arts Space. Year 8 to 11 parents will go to sessions with their Year Coordinator which will be repeated at 8.20pm.
- This evening is for parents/carers only.

Infants and Primary Assembly
Parents are warmly invited to join us each fortnight on a Friday at our Infants and Primary assemblies in the PAS.
- Infants Assembly (Kindergarten to Year 2) is from 10.00-10.30am on Friday 21 February, Friday 7 March, Friday 21 March and Friday 4 April.
- Primary Assembly (Years 3 to 6) is from 1.40-2.15pm on Friday 21 February, Friday 7 March, Friday 21 March and Friday 4 April.
Secondary Literacy Parent Information Evening
- Tuesday 25 February
- 6.00-7.00pm
- This event will explain how students are being taught analytical writing in English.
- This event is for parents/carers only as students are being taught this information in class.

What's Been Happening?
Secondary Swimming Carnival
Warringah Aquatic Centre was awash with blue, yellow, red and green today as students, parents and teachers came ready to cheer on their House! Well done to all our amazing swimmers! A big thank you to all the fabulous parent helpers, and a huge cheer to Mrs Slatter and Mrs Carnell (and team!) for all their hard work. The WINNING House and Age Champions will be announced next week! Until then, enjoy a sneak peak at a very fun day!
Covenant Information
Premier's Reading Challenge (Kindy to Year 9)
What? An initiative of the NSW State government which aims to encourage in students a love of reading for leisure and pleasure, and to enable students to experience quality literature. It is not a competition but a challenge to each student to read, to read more and to read more widely. Students who complete the Challenge for 4 years will receive a Gold Award. Students who have participated for 7 years receive a Platinum Award. Students who have participated for 9 years receive a medal. Students who complete the Challenge each year from Years 3 to 9 inclusive receive a PRC medal.
When? It runs from 1 March to 15 August 2025, however students can keep a record of books they are reading now to include in their 2025 reading records when the online reading records open. All reading records need to be into Mrs. Watson by 15 August for validation.
Who? The Challenge is divided into 4 groups. Kindergarten-Year 2, Year 3-4, Year 5-6 and Year 7-9.
What does your child need to do? Students who wish to participate must write their name and class on a list found in the Junior School Library (K-6) or the Learning Hub (7-9) by 26 February 2025. The school will then register the students in the Challenge if they haven’t already registered online.
If your child is new to Covenant and has competed in the PRC at your previous school, write your previous school and date of birth next to your name when you register. This information can be used by the PRC administrators to link your records.

Senior School Blazer
Blazers are a feature of the uniform for all students in Years 10 to 12. They are compulsory in Terms 2 and 3 and must be worn to and from school.
Blazer Fittings
The Uniform Shop will open specifically for blazer fittings from 10.30am to 1.20pm on the following dates:
- Monday 10 February
- Wednesday 12 February
Students should visit during recess, lunch or study periods.

Wondering what PIP is? The Parent Involvement Program (PIP) gives our parents the opportunity to enjoy a hands-on role in the education of their children and an opportunity to engage with other members of our community. You can learn more here.
