Junior School Festival of Light competitions

As part of our upcoming Festival of Light in Term 3, there are 3 special ways your family can get involved. Select from the drop-down menu below for more information. 

Photography competition

Light in God's World Photography competition

Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 are invited to enter one photograph that is representative of the theme of light. 

Entry details:

  • One entry per student
  • The photograph needs to be submitted in digital and print version (8x12")
  • Entries will be accepted from Week 4, Term 3.

Lego competition

Light in the Bible Lego competition

Kindergarten to Year 6 families are invited to build and submit a Lego scene showcasing a Biblical moment where light is featured. 

Entry details:

  • One entry per family
  • The maximum size of your build is a 40x40cm base plate
  • Parents are welcome (and encouraged!) to participate in this activity with their children 
  • Lego scenes will need to be brought to school in Week 6, Term 3

Build a Light

Build a Light - STEM opportunity

Kindergarten to Year 6 families are invited to create a 'working light' that can be brought in and displayed during our Festival of Light. 

Guidelines:

  • The light needs to be adapted/created from recycled materials
  • The light cannot be powered by 240V, naked flame or chemicals (batteries, solar or mechanical are fine)
  • The light should be no larger than a 50cm square
  • The light can be painted or illustrated
  • Each light should have a card with its name, who created it and a description (e.g. is there a Biblical link?)
  • Be creative and think outside the box
