“Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ”
1 Corinthians 11:1 (NIV)

This is a powerful statement of discipleship. As Jesus’ people we are following the Lord Christ. But we are also following the example of pastors, parents and many others who are themselves following the example of Christ. We each follow the examples we set one another. We are teaching each other what it looks like to be Jesus people, how to live as Christ calls us to live. As disciples of Jesus we are also setting the example for others to follow.

This pattern of both following and leading is an important practice of the Christian life. It is a great privilege to see this being lived out not only by the staff at Covenant, but also by our students. Our lunchtime Christian groups are run by students in partnership with teachers.

Our Secondary group 'Mustard' is lead by Year 12 students who disciple students in Years 7 to 10. Our Junior group 'Kids for Christ' is lead by Year 11 students who disciple students in Years 3 to 6. Across these two groups, we have about 200 students involved each week.

Please join us in thanking God for these young men and women and asking our God to bless our ministry as we encourage each other in following Jesus Christ.
