Sport Report Week 2
North Met Zone Basketball Gala Day
On Friday four teams made their way to Castle Hill for the basketball gala day. Our junior boys
and girls teams had some tough opposition, but kept trying hard throughout all of their games. Our senior girls team put up a solid display, especially
considering many of our team could have been playing in juniors, but proved themselves capable of playing well against much older opposition and were
just pipped at the post on a few occasions. Our senior boys team were also younger than some of their opposition, but played beyond their years to
make the grand final. They unfortunately went down to Pacific Hills despite having beaten them in the earlier round game, but played a very entertaining
match and will prove a formidable force next year. Thanks to Mrs Staj and Mr Tatzenko for coaching our team.
Year 10 Textiles, design and create costumes
At the beginning of the year, Year 10 Textiles set out to redesign a costume for a character. The class learnt how costumes can form impressions of character
and how each costume differs depending on setting and scene.
The class came up with such creative solutions which coincidentally showed off their own personalities! The characters included Mini Mouse, Cher from Clueless, Princess Aurora, Red Riding Hood, Belle, Snow White, Harlequin and the Mad Hatter. See if you can figure out who is who!
We collaborated with Year 10 Photography, in particular Hannah Pierson and Rebecca Munkman, who produced these beautiful photos. We thank you for your efforts and expertise in celebrating these costumes.
From the Prayer Group - 2018 T3 Week 2
"For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens. He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since he did this once for all when he offered up himself. For the law appoints men in their weakness as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who has been made perfect forever." Hebrews 7:26-28 (ESV)
- Praise God for the gift of His Son Jesus, who being without sin, gave His life up for us, and became the sacrifice for our sins once for all. Give thanks that by faith in Jesus, we have assurance of forgiveness.
- Give thanks and pray for teachers and students in Preschool and Kindy.
- Continue to pray for Year 12 students sitting HSC Trials till Monday 20th August.
- Pray for Year 11 Hospitality Placements starting on Monday.
- Pray for Year 10/12 Agriculture Excursion to Dairy Farm in Bringelly on Monday.
- Pray for Year 8/9 Verbal Combat (bullying) Incursion on Monday.
