Year 7 English Extension Class visit Year 2
The Year 7 Extension Class has been studying the features of allegories this term. Students are reading George Orwell’s novel Animal Farm and have written
their own allegories. The students’ task was to write an allegory with a moral that would be suitable for younger children.
This week we had a wonderful visit to the Year 2 classes, as the students read their own creative compositions to small groups of children. Year 7 had
the opportunity to discover if their message was clear and resonated with the target audience. Year 2 were very receptive and appreciative. Both young
and older students were encouraged through their common enjoyment of stories with their power to teach and entertain.
