The Year 11 and 12 boys played a spirited and very competitive game of soccer against Arden Anglican School. It was an impressive display of sportsmanship
by the Covenant boys in what was quite a physical game. As the first game of the season many of the boys have not yet starting playing for their
weekend teams but you wouldn't have known it from the sideline.
Missing a few key players and backing up straight after the swimming carnival the boys efforts were very much appreciated by their coach Mr Wakeford.
Special mention must go to the Year 10 boys that handled their first opens game admirably. Defender Mark Allan who was thrown in at the last minute
was just one of the outstanding examples of how the team fared. Jack Harry (Year 12) contributed with two fine goals and Kristian Atherton (Year
10) also playing his first opens game made the score sheet. The boys will now contest the next round of the CIS Knockout Cup when they meet Waverley
College in the coming weeks.
Final score was Covenant 3 vs Arden 1. It was a good start to the 2017 season.
