The Annual Year 5 Billy Cart was another great morning of creativity, fun and a bit of danger! Well done to all the students and parents who helped. Great to see so many parents able to join in the great race. Several classes were able to come and watch.
There was a great variety of designs - both single and double. There was also a wide range in the quality of brakes! Here is a report from a student
On Monday the 6th of December we had a Billy Cart Day. There were eleven teams that competed. We had to go down the drive way at the front of the school. We had to avoid tree roots on the course which make the drive more difficult.
First we did a brake test to find out if our brakes were safe. To win the brake test you had to try and stop at a line drawn on the course numbered 10. The team that won the brake test was Rainbow Handprints because they stopped exactly at 10. Then we had three timed tests.
Zac and Sam won the best crash as they raced down the track. The fastest time was 11 seconds by Cool Runnings. The best theme was Sugar Rush team with their lolly pop billy cart and lolly pop shirts. The best brake design was the Totally Tie Dye team. The best decorated cart was Krazy with a K which was made from a car seat and had a soccer ball base.
It was a really fun day and we look watching Year 5 next year.
