Whether a seasoned skier or a first-time snow-goer, each of the 42 Covie students – plus Mrs Freestone, Mr Monin, Mrs Purcell and Mrs Henderson – buzzed
with excitement on the way to the Snowy Mountains on Friday 10 August.
Saturday on the slopes at Smiggin Holes was a little blustery and occasioned several stops at Mid Station for hot chocolate. In the afternoon, beginners worked hard on their stopping and turning techniques while our advanced groups smashed longer runs down Mount Perisher. It took us several hours to return to our accommodation that evening, due to a brief trip to the medical centre and numerous traffic incidents.
We’re very thankful for God’s protection of our group through these unforeseen challenges! Spoiled with plenty of powder and a bluebird morning on Sunday, we squeezed in as many runs as we could before collapsing onto the bus and dozing all the way home. Hearty thanks to Mrs Freestone who, once again, organised a ripper Snow Trip!
