Recently, the Covenant Robotics team, 'Covie Robotics', completed the Nexgen IoT challenge at Microsoft. The team had a short amount of time to design and build a robot (which we named Robby) from a given drive base kit that would complete the given task. The task was to drive around a course which represented a destructed city and scan for infrared signals which represented citizens in need of rescue.
Over the course of two days, our team encountered many challenges ranging from a burnt out 'Raspberry PIS' to a short-circuit of the sensors and had to
work quickly and efficiently as a team to have Robby completed within the strict timeframe. Robby finally made it onto the course and we managed to
complete it in just over 6 minutes with less than 4 minutes to spare.
