Flexible Learning Guide

A wealth of information for parents and students as we recommence home-based flexible learning.

Meet the Board

Covenant submits to the authority of God's word and seeks to be obedient and faithful to Him in all that it does. Christian parents are encouraged to become members of the school Association which elects the Board. Board members are active members of several different churches.

Karen Andersen

Karen attends St David's Anglican Church at Forestville and works for Telstra as an in-house lawyer. Her two children both attend the school.

“We were drawn to Covenant by its Godly teachers and former student recommendations. We were impressed about the love and care the teachers show the students. Over the last 2 years, we have learned about the critical importance of Christian Education to equip our kids in this increasingly challenging world. I want to serve on the Board to help Covenant to stay biblically based and Christ-centred, and to aid Christian parents to raise their kids as bible believing Christians.”

Karen joined the Board in 2018.

Anne Baker

Anne attends All Saints Anglican Church Balgowlah and works as the Administration Assistant for St James Kindergarten. Her children previously attended Covenant.“Even though I stepped off the school Board a few years ago, I was still very much connected to Covenant through my roles on the CEN National Board and chair of CEN State Council. After finishing my last term on the National Board, I felt God calling me back to the Covenant Board to serve here again.”Anne returned the Board in 2018.

Rob Ghali

Rob attends St Ives Family Church and works as an Executive within the Commonwealth Government. His three children attend Covenant.

"It has been such a blessing seeing the Christian perspective and influences on my children, which they bring home every day. I have been encouraged by how seriously the school values being faithful to God and am making myself available to serve God through the school."

Rob joined the Board in 2020.

Simon Higgins

Simon attends RUACH Neighbourhood Church and works as GM Human Resources at Catholic Healthcare. All four of his children have attended the school.

"I love Covenant and have a deep desire to see our school flourish. I believe that with my professional background, previous Covenant Board experience and long term relationship with Covie as a parent, I have a great deal to contribute to the governance of the school."

Simon returned to the Board in 2021.

Ben Peletier

Ben is the pastor of Northern Beaches Christian Reformed Church.

"I would love to serve on the Board in order to contribute to the future of not only Christian education but also mission on the Northern Beaches. I want to see the next generation grow to love Jesus and use their gifts and abilities."

Ben joined the Board in 2020.

Bel Ritchie

Bel attends All Saints Anglican Church in Balgowlah where she loves serving in a small church that feels like a family. Her three children attend Covenant.

"I would like to continue my service to our school in the capacity of director. I have been very grateful for our Board’s dedication in adhering to our vision and mission as a Christian school. I cherish our Christian distinctive, and welcome the opportunity to sacrificially serve our school in a governance capacity to help ensure we continue to fulfil this vision and mission."

Bel joined the Board in 2020.

Tasha Smithies

Tasha attends St David's Anglican Church and works for Network 10 as a Senior Litigation Counsel. Her four children attend the school.

"My legal background and time on the Board has given me an appreciation of what is needed to serve on the Board and to take Covenant further down the path of being a Christ-centred, academically rigorous school. I hope I can continue to serve the Covie community with these skills into the future."

Tasha returned to the Board in 2021.
