Secondary School Overview

The positive, encouraging atmosphere and small classes in the Senior School provide the ideal environment for students to take more responsibility for their own learning, with corresponding privileges.

At Covenant Christian School Sydney we aim to cater for students who have different strengths and gifts.  In Year 7 there are three classes for most subjects. One English class caters for those with strengths in literacy while the other two classes are mixed ability. Maths classes are sorted for ability levels. Students mix widely in other classes, while in practical classes students are divided into four groups, allowing for more student- teacher interaction.

As students progress through the school they are introduced to more specialist teachers and subjects and may find new skills and interests.  By the senior years students can choose widely from a broad curriculum.

For Pastoral care and devotions students mix with students from all years 7-12 in Vertical Rolls based on House groups. This is developing a sense of community and helps new and younger students settle in and be supported by older students.

Our curriculum is Board of Studies based and all our subjects are taught from a biblical worldview.

Students at Covenant are encouraged by teachers to think critically from a biblical perspective about all areas of life. It is our hope and prayer that this thinking will impact the course and decisions of their life whether they prepare for further study, enter the workforce or are led in other ways.

Covenant Christian School's mission statement is about assisting you, the parent, in a nurturing role by providing a Bible-based, Christ-centred,culturally engaging and academically rigorous education which equips the children to live for God’s glory.
