Meet Ben Moyneux our newest Board Member at Covenant.
How long have you been involved at Covenant?
Since 2009 when my son, Jordan, began Kindy.
Why did you decide to go on the school Board?
I was asked to consider being on the school Board and I felt that this would provide me with an opportunity to contribute to and invest in the life of the school.
What do you see as your role on the school Board?
I believe that serving as part of the school Board is both a great privilege and weighty responsibility, representing those parents who make up the members of the Association. I hope my humble contributions will be helpful in keeping Christ at the centre of all we do at Covenant as he currently is and has been in the past.
Why should parents consider joining the school Association?
Yvette and I have both become avid supporters of Christian education in the last four years being a part of the Covie community. Considering the large portion of our lives that we have invested in educating our children and considering the great mission Covenant has to provide Christ-centred, biblically grounded, culturally engaging education in partnership with parents, we joined the Association as we felt a strong conviction to actively commit to and support the school in its mission. I think that's a great reason for other parents to consider joining the Association, too!
Tell us about your family.
I am married to Yvette, an ex-Covie student (nee Chapman). We're in our thirteenth year of marriage and have been blessed with three children so far - Jordan (Year 3), Bailey (Year 1) and Lily (who will start transition next year, God willing).
What church do you attend?
We have attended St Faith's Anglican Church in Narrabeen since 1996 and I now have the privilege of serving on staff there as one of the Pastors.
What is the current book you are reading and your favourite movie of all time?
Crazy Love by Francis Chan, and either "The Notebook" or "Rocky IV" (I can't choose between the two).
Do you have any hobbies or interests?
Three kids seem to take up most of my hobby time these days! I'm interested in all things sport (mostly from the couch) and have good intentions of learning the guitar and taking up beach fishing!
Tell us about a memorable family holiday.
Last winter we took the family to the Blue Mountains for a short break. On one of the days we decided to visit Jenolan Caves. Having enjoyed the cave tour, we came out to find the heavens had opened and the snow falling!! It was the most amazing experience to witness the place turn white in about 15 minutes! It also made for an interesting drive, sliding all over the road, getting bogged and being towed by a local with his tractor up the hill to flat ground! Good fun, great memories!
