Students win German Film Festival first prize

Covenant has once again received a first prize for German film. Covenant had three films in the finals. Mrs Boady's Year 7 class took out 1st prize in the Junior Category out of the 3 states and territory. The film was ‘Ryans Geheimnis’ (Ryan's Secret). Films in all categories were enthusiastically received by a record number audience of 180 students at the Verona Cinema. The judges noted the overall quality of the films was very high.

The Goethe Institute in Sydney runs a German Film festival yearly for schools in New South Wales, Queensland, ACT and Victoria. The theme this year was Walls-Borders-Horizons. Entries had to be in German and no more than 4 minutes in length with a story line that connected with the overall theme of the year. Covenant enters this competition every year, submitting one movie per German class. 

The prize was a trophy and $400.

We will place the Covenant video on our YouTube channel once it has subtitles (for those of us who don't yet speak German!).

Each participating group will receive a certificate, a DVD with all films screened at the finals and a DVD of the Berlin wall.
