Request for donation of bras for Africa

An unusual request for the ladies in our school community produced an amazing response. Alice Mercy founded Christian Counseling Fellowship in Uganda and spoke at a local Women's Conference last weekend. The C3 Church (Christian City Church) wanted to send Alice home with oodles of bras of all shapes and sizes.

Alice Mercy is an incredible woman who is no stranger to pain and suffering.  In spite of this Alice has chosen to use the hands she has been given to bring the light and love of Christ to the beautiful Ugandan people.

The organisation she founded, Christian Counseling Fellowship (CCF), provides counseling and rehabilitation to abducted victims of the the local guerilla army.  Already, CCF has helped hundreds of abducted young mothers and given thousands of boys and girls access to health services and a start on the road to economic independence.

Recently Alice had the privilege of addressing the United Nations in New York to highlight the plight of the Ugandan Child Brides and Boy Soldiers.

Over 150 bras were donated which is a great response from the school community.

Many thanks to all of you who supported such a great cause. We had a fabulous response for 'up-lifting' African women and delivered 150 - 200 bras last night at the conference. Wahoo.

Wow, what a wonderful report! Such a blessing to have received over 1000 bras for our African Sisters over the Everywoman Conference. They will be making their way to Uganda before Christmas - what a gift they will be. Ps’ Chris and Bernie will be thrilled to hear of Covenant’s giving.
