Alumni Laura Bennett selected as Hope 1032 apprenticeDate Posted: 02-Oct-2009 |
Former Covenant student Laura Bennett (2005) has been selected as one of only two apprentices for Sydney's Christian Radio Station Hope 103.2. Laura had to come up with a way to market gherkins and submitted an audio presentation (as well as a DVD of bloopers). There were several applicants for the role so the banana suit (photo below) all helped catch the judges attention! Here's a report from Laura. Be sure to listen out for her on radio. "Two weeks ago I became an ‘Aaron and Dan Apprenti’’. “What is that?” you ask…let me tell you. Over the upcoming long weekend, I, with ‘co-Apprenti’ Joel, will be protégés to 103.2 brekkie hosts, Aaron and Dan, as we roam the Black Stump Festival interviewing bands, youth groups and other guests who arrive to be part of the fun. It’s gong to be a fantastic weekend with artists such as Playjerise, New Empire and Candice Casagrande in the line-up. Aside from chatting with them, we will also be hosting a Scavenger Hunt, staring up a Hacky Sack comp, and talking with the crew from Tear Australia who are setting up a ‘Stump Slum Survivor’ challenge. There will also be various ‘Apprentice Challenges’ given to us throughout the broadcast, so it sounds as though it’s going to be a fairly jam-packed couple of days. In the lead up to the event we’ve been on-air promoting the weekend and have also had the chance to observe and contribute to production meetings as wells as guest interviews, which have been great in giving us an insight into the world of radio. So if you’re not already coming to black Stump, come!...or tune in to Hope 103.2 103.2 on Saturday morning from 6am to hear us LIVE with Aaron and Dan!" Well done Laura!!
