Primary CIS Athletics Championships 2009Date Posted: 16-Sep-2009 |
On Tuesday 15 September, Braden King (Yr 6), Hayden Tucker (Yr 6) and Cooper Bennison (Yr 5) competed in the 2009 CIS Athletics Championships at Homebush. In the running events there were 3 heats which means the best 24 from all independent schools in NSW. From the heats the fastest 9 times went through to the final. Cooper Bennison qualified 9th in the 200m and 2nd in the 100m to go through to the finals in both events. In the 100m, he narrowly missed a medal and came 4th with a personal best time - A great achievement at such a high level of competition. Hayden came 12th overall in the 200m. Braden threw a personal best distance in turbo javelin to come second and was awarded a silver medallion – well done!! These boys are a credit to our school - in the efforts they put in and the spirit in which they competed and all that they achieved. Thanks to their wonderful parents for their support, encouragement and presence at all the carnivals in recent months. Tanya Hammond Go Back >> |
