Educating Future Leaders advertising in Manly DailyDate Posted: 15-Sep-2009 |
As a Christian School the single most effective form of "marketing" is simply our parents and students sharing their own stories with their friends and other church members. Throughout the year Covenant does select a few places to advertise the school in local media. One of these was the Educating Future Leaders supplement in The Manly Daily. As 70% of our school community live in the area covered by the Manly Daily we decided it was worth being included among all the other local schools. Rather than just talking about facilities we decided to answer some of the questions people in our community may have about us. The goal was to encourage them to explore the website and request a School Tour on DVD. In all our advertising we seek to highlight that we are a Christian School in more than name. Here is the text from the advertisement... "There are some questions you may have about Covenant Christian School Belrose. Q. How big is Covenant? A. Many families are surprised to discover Covenant has over 800 students and was started 31 years ago. Families love having the preschool, primary and high school on one site and the generous family discounts. Q. Where are you? A. Next to Wakehurst Oval on Forest Way Belrose between Frenchs Forest and Terrey Hills. Q. Who started the school? A. Covenant was started by passionate Christians, not a church or a denomination. The mission of Covenant is assisting parents in the nurture of their children, providing a Bible-based, Christ-centred, culturally engaging, academically rigorous education which equips the children to live for God’s glory. There is a strong sense of community with families now representing an amazing 120 churches. Q. How good are your HSC results? A. Check the website and you will discover Covenant students are consistently well ranked. Q. What does Covenant mean? A. A covenant is an agreement between two or more. For Christians it refers to the agreements, or promises, God made with people such as Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses and the people of Israel. God’s new covenant is established with us through the life, death and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ. Q. How do I learn more? A. Covenant’s free eight-minute school tour on DVD has interviews with several parents and staff and provides a quick overview for parents and students. In August 2009 Covenant’s innovative new website and blogsite won the National Centre for Marketing School’s Gold Award. The school’s blogsite with over 430 articles and YouTube channel is popular with students, parents and relatives. Group school tours are increasingly popular. You may be surprised at Covenant’s extensive facilities. Six new infants’ classrooms will also open early 2010. The relaxed 75-minute tour and morning tea gives parents, and students, an opportunity to explore, meet staff and parents, plus ask lots of questions."
