On Wednesday 19th a group of students from Years 7 & 8 left for the annual Visual Arts camp. After our bus trip up the Blue Mountains we met with students from Tyndale Christian School at Winmalee Christian Conference Centre. We were looking forward to three days of exploring the beautiful art God has created.
Over the days we were there we would separate into groups doing one of the following: building sculptures out of sticks, painting, print making or clay. We had two or three sessions in each activity. Some people made really big and interesting sculptures using sticks glue guns and tissue paper. Each person did a clay tile that fitted with others to make a larger picture of a flower. We brought the larger tile picture back to school to be fired and glazed. We had a guest artist, Gloria Marojevic who came and showed us her artwork. She talked about how God is a big part of her art making and we saw her abstract paintings. Mrs Marojevic ran some painting workshops with us and Mrs Wiltshire. We also had free time which we spent talking to the Tyndale people we met. The food and accommodation was really good. We left with more knowledge about art and a group of new friends. It was fun.
