Living Books bring stories to life in the library

Date Posted: 31-Aug-2009

Covenant's passionate Junior School librarians have transformed the library into a colourful jungle. Student artworks appear around the library, as well as footprints from a variety of animals and lots of stuffed toys! It is well worth a visit to see their creativity.

Last week for Bookweek guest speakers were invited at lunch time to be our “Living Books”. They each spoke to the kids on something they are passionate about. On Monday we had Mr Morton speak on “Good books to read out loud”. On Tuesday we had Mrs Jacobs become a “Living Book” on 4WDing and the desert. Wednesday was crowded with an audience keen to listen to Ms Watkins speak on Dance.  Thursday was Mrs Morton on Art and Craft. After each talk the students were encouraged to ask questions and then borrow books on that subject.

Guess which animal made each of these footprints?
