Biscuit Appreciation Society (BASCCS)

Thursday, November 13, 2008
A society with members from both the student body and the staff faculty, meets every Wednesday Recess to appreciate biscuits. The society was founded in Term 1 of 2008 by a group of Year 11 girls who shared a passion for biscuits and a vision to see this passion shared with the school. Through an analysis of taste, texture, smell, appearance and other vital elements of biscuits, the society is able to truly understand the biscuit and how it contributes to a community.

We believe that anything, even biscuits, when put to good use, can change the world. =] We have so far hosted two fundraising events by selling donated biscuits baked by the members. The first fundraiser was a huge success, raising, over $350 for World Vision 40 Hour Famine. The second fundraiser was hosted in week 3 of term 4 and raised over $300 for Salvation Army's Oasis Centre.

If anyone is interested in joining the society see Eloise Boutry, Georgina Bell or Lauren Bothma for more information.

Yours in biscuit loving BASCCS
