To celebrate the arrival of “SPRING” T2 went on a Teddy Bear’s picnic. The children brought their favourite bears from home. In the dramatic play area, in our classroom, a picnic was set up. Natalie & Thomas sat with their bears feeding them fruit & tea! “I wonder if Bears like fruit” the teacher asked “Bears like honey, Winnie the Pooh likes honey” said Thomas. The teacher then asked the bears individually “Do you like grapes?” the children would make their bears nod their head “yes” or “no” Aidan’s bear liked ALL the food & ate lots too! Jemimah, Grace, Brooke & Nathaniel soon joined in the picnic too with their bears. Later in the morning Nathan & Chante had a picnic with their bears, feeding them sandwiches & fruit. Elijah also enjoyed the picnic playing alongside Aidan. Jemimah drew her bear called “Teddy Bear’s Picnic” & Hans drew a bear for his dad & his brother.
During the morning the children practised their fine motor skills using a plastic knife to spread icing on a Teddy Bear biscuit. Once the icing was on the children sprinkled their biscuits with sparkles. We kept them safely in our lunchboxes ready for the picnic.
Just before lunch we set off for the picnic. We took our picnic blankets, our lunch & the parachute. Before lunch we played some parachute games. Then we enjoyed our picnic lunch & eating the delicious Teddy Bear biscuits.
